Ranbir and Deepika's films won't clash

Ranbir and Deepika's films won't clash

#
For the last couple of months there had been strong indications around Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone facing an unlikely face off with their Barfi!and Cocktail respectively taking on each other by releasing on the same day. However, as things stand today, chances of such fireworks have gone extinct, what with Cocktail deciding 13th July as D-Day for its arrival with Barfi! not showing any inclination whatsoever to stick to the same date.

"It had seemed like one major clash because after breaking up in real life, Ranbir and Deepika had renewed professional ties by agreeing to do Karan Johar's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. However with the makers of Barfi! and Cocktail pitting them against each other, there were chances of some tense moments all over again", says a source.

Though one waited to see who amongst the two would make the first move and take an initiative to change the release date, complete silence on the part of Anurag Basu (director: Barfi!) and Saif Ali Khan (producer: Cocktail) resulted in all the more uncertainty.

"That isn't the case anymore though", the source continues, "The First Look of Cocktail is all set to be unveiled pretty soon, though for Barfi! there is still some more time to go before it kick-starts any active promotion. With less than two months to go for 13th July, one can as well forget all about the Ranbir- Deepika clash now. That may now happen some other day, if at all it has to."

Though indications are that Barfi! would now arrive in August, one waits to see how and when does that happen because right in the middle of the month, Salman Khan would be arriving with his Ek Tha Tiger

In the meantime, while the ex-lovebirds can be expected to heave a sigh of relief, the filmmakers who have seized the opportunity are Vikram Bhatt and Shawn Arranha. They would now bring their 1920-Evil Returns and Tukka Fitt on the day that was originally meant to be Ranbir-Deepika playground.

Guess industry can live with an Aftab Shivdasani v/s Mahakshay Chakraborty clash instead of Ranbir and Deepika turning hostile.
